Standing seam roof to a garden room
A leaking felt roof replaced in double-lock standing seam aluminium, panels rolled on site to the full length of the slope so there is no horizontal lap anywhere on the run.
The problem, and the number
The slope runs long enough that stock panel lengths would have put a lap partway up it. We rolled on site instead and ran every panel ridge to eave, which removes the only joint on a metal roof that has to be sealed rather than seamed.
The panels are fixed at the ridge and float at the eave on concealed clips, so the movement goes where it was designed to go. Nothing is face-screwed through the water plane.
