Project 07
Cast iron guttering replaced
Undersized guttering that overshot in every shower, replaced in cast iron on a conservation-area terrace, sized properly to the roof area behind it.

The problem, and the number
The complaint was blockages. The cause was arithmetic: 112 mm half-round with a single 68 mm downpipe on a long rear slope that throws water faster than the profile can take it. Clearing it out would have fixed nothing.
The house is in a conservation area, so plastic was not an option and would have looked wrong anyway. The new run is cast iron ogee on rise-and-fall brackets at 800 mm centres, falling 1:600 to two 100 mm downpipes instead of one. The fascia was scarfed in where the old brackets had let the gutter tip back and rot the board.
